For the new 2.0 version of the Granny Piano, Soundiron have tweaked the mapping and layering “to make it feel more responsive and natural, ” combined the “Tuned” and “Untuned” versions into a single preset with a Tuning mode switch and implemented voice management technology designed to minimize noise-floor build-up while maintaining performance. They’ve also incorporated a range of user controls to allow total sonic shaping.
You can also shape note Attack and sample Offset to create pad-like sounds. The Release control lets you tighten the sound. The Uberpeggiator allows arpeggiations and you’ll find tempo-syncing resonant filter and volume LFOs build into nearly every preset. Soundiron have also included a parametric EQ and convolution reverb with 50 room and FX impulses to choose from. Finally, the new Geriatrocities atmospheric sustains preset includes 12 custom ambiencies that can be blended and shaped freely, including the ability to play with polyphonic legato and custom-blend two layers at a time.
Pricing & Availability:
The sample library is available to purchase for $39 USD through November 20th, 2012 (MSRP $49 USD). The update is free for current owners of the library.
