Being the cheapskate I am, I ended up with two freebies! Both sampled, both VST and both very good. 4front Bass from yohng.com, and AmpleSound's Ample Bass P Lite II. I also use the Stige Bass Profeswsor II, a processor that handles compression, EQ, transient response, and it makes the bass sound more realistic. I know about bass, because I have played electric bass (a real one) for 50+ years.
