That I just finished an album of blues-rock with these speakers, I return to my notes and my general assessment.
After nearly a year of use, summary of the situation ...
I bought these speakers because my amp and my two RA100 TANNOY Reavell had a bit of age and were not able to generate frequencies below 70 Hz significantly, and considering the price, risk-taking was minimal, scalded cat fears cold water, after some bad experiences ...
I bought the set for mixing and monitoring in the studio.
They are directly connected to the output of my console FW1884
SOUNDS
From there anything worse, I have these speakers for almost a year, and I just finished an album that will be on sale from December 2007 on a live country band.
To track record and prepare the mix, they fulfill their role. As for the correction, it can not be used as a reference, despite several attempts and a measure of curve in the studio (which also looks more like a cup of the Andes ...).
Short response curve is not at all satisfactory, but at this price level ...
The image is correct or good sterréo.
The sound is clear but completely inaccurate in terms of height frequency.
The momentum seems good but the bass are still predominant at low volume.
It should be noted that the setting is more back office gadget and are not effective.
The infrabass are cleared by the speakers that the coup will saturate and do not be alarmed at a frequency too low ...
OVERALL OPINION
I use these speakers for a year.
I like the undeniable value for money, I hate these speakers to perform work on the sound (EQ, analysis).
I tested other models, but all in amounts less than € 1000
The value for money and very correct (compared to competition)
With experience, I think I'll wait a bit to get some more tunes and I will purchase a pair of Genelec. For now, I use a pair of audax for analysis of home-made high quality!
In summary, these speakers can be connected to a small console to return to info or a keyboard to be heard but not in home studio to work even an amateur ....
