Point.

Back: Instrument Input, Line Out, Headphone out, Alim, and an inscription "Made in Japan" that inspires confidence. Below: Cover for a 9V battery. The hull is made of plastic but the bottom is metal. Finally we have an expression pedal input, but drop is for the Wah Wah and sucks like ... I finally see it below.

UTILIZATION

Ultra simple!

You press the pedal, you change effect. You can block a bank or not, change silent or not to go forward or backward bypass.

The concept: each sound suite is composed of fixed effects, each effect is set at different levels:

1 - compressseur / limit / wah
2 - distortion
3 - gain
4 - amp simulator
5 - equalizer / phaser
6 - chorus / flanger / synth / octaver
7 - delay / reverb
8 - output level

In the genus easy to use, seriously I have rarely seen so enjoyable. The manual is read in 5 minutes and you quickly realize this is very well explained and illustrated.

Simply press the Edit button and voila, you enter the programming mode. Then, one by one, adjusting the intensity of the effect (it flashes when it is selected, you can not go wrong, and the screen afiche the effect sizes), and although it was impossible combinations, which is a shame, there is something fun.

Then you press twice Store, it is stored.

SOUND QUALITY

- How it sounds, Chapter 1 of the stew.

When it was released in 1996, I did not like. Zoom does not play in the big leagues. And then I was looking for a bass synth, the 506 is the ... how to say? ... to die of laughter? ... Yes, that's exactly it! This is not a synth, it's a big filter saturated well below the Digitech Bass Synth Wah or Ibanez SB-7.

Second effect Kiss Cool: The autowah sucks. Not powerful and it was nice to grind, it is unusable. I had a Wah George Denis, a Boss FW-3, and I autowah my Boss SYB-3 Bass Synthesizer, they are light years above that of the 506.

Finally, the simulation models are not convincing. Set as yours.

Remains: the compressor, octaver, chorus, the delays, the distos, flanger, phaser, EQ.

And then we can do something good this 506, but you must enter in and tweak.

First, these effects are quite bloody, and at each level of control means substantially different sound.

The distos, it is the slight saturation adjustment bluesy "toutafon" a beefy amp, through the 70's fuzz effect.

For the modulation of sound, it's all good: the chorus are clear and precise, flanger works perfectly, phaser too, and EQ is subtle but it can boost the effect, correct, according the bass is quite effective.

We have three types of delay / reverb (delay, hall, room).

The octaver to inflate slightly the sound of the bass or double it outright.

When the compressor is simple, I put on all my donf personal settings, and that it Rabotte attack nickel.

Three characters sound: as a result, compressor + eq. + + Fuzz light delay / compressor + eq. + + Octaver hall reverb / delay + compressor.

OVERALL OPINION

For the first time I needed a multi-effects, and I wanted something small, convenient and cheap. I was surprised by the possibilities of this craft which at the time I had not won because I was looking for bass-synth sounds only.

+ Zoom 506 fits in the pocket of the case of low
+ Is reliable and robust
+ The look rock-industrial anthracite and orange is tasteful
+ It is super fast to take charge

- on the other hand it is limited by the number of widgets we wanted to keep it
- And not to the height of the individual effects of quality

But this is not his goal he must be back in order to extract the best and it is so easy to program as it makes a small Swiss Army knife very useful.

I purchased this pedal new from Counce Bros. Music in Muscle Shoals, AL. about two years ago for roughly $150.00 (before the prices went down). I needed an effects unit that was flexible, and cheap in price so if a beer got spilled in it, I wouldn't feel the need to kill a drunken redneck.

I like having all these effects at my feet, in one unit. Being a bass player, I don't have the need to run more than one or two effects at a time, so noise really isn't a problem. The Zoom 506 Bass has a great octave effect, the chorus is nice, and when I use the envelope filter in conjunction with a little fuzz, it replicates my old BassBalls pedal nicely. As far as reliability, I have filled it full of sand from playing gigs on the beach, club-owners dogs have taken massive pisses on it, and yes, beer has been spilled in it (the redneck lived, btw). Still cranking out the sounds after several cleanings.

The only complaint I could have about the Zoom 506 Bass is when I have tried to run several effects at once, there is an ever-present noise that is almost as loud as the original signal. As I stated earlier, this isn't a real-world problem that I have to deal with.

The whole unit is plastic, but is still half-way sturdy. Unless your performance includes standing on your effects pedal while doing a ballarina twirl as your high-heel spiked army boots are in flames, you shouldn't have a problem. Effects quality is very high, especially considering the cost of the unit.

Great sounds, lots of effects to choose from, all at good to great quality, cheap in price, and should last a long time. When this one finally dies, I will replace it with one just like it, or the updated version.

I bought zoom 506 in a local store near my house for the price of $100, I think, I can't be too sure on the price. I bought it mostly because of his price compared with the ones on single efects pedals, and I was just a begginer

The zoom 506 has a considerable number of efects, the most common are all there, and throught that we can achieve some really nice sounds from the box. It's very light and small, basically very easy to carry. Another thing is that it is very very easy to use, in about one day you become very at ease with machine.

It has big, and I mean really big, problems with noise, so much that the things that I liked about zoom 506 goes down the drain. When we use compressor or limiter you can forget about sound quality, there's nothing to do, it just doesn't go away. Another thing is that we don't have parameters within the efects, so you don't have a lot of space to play around with. The equalizer is very limited and changing banks on live gigs is a very risky work.

It's very well built with exception of the buttons on the sides that get stuck very easily. I bought zoom 506 about 4 years ago and it still works without any problem, I never had a malfunction.

I recommend zoom 506 only for begginers, to get at ease playing whit efects, zoom 506 certainly does the job. It's very easy to use and you can make really nice sounds with it, the big problem it's his noise, it becomes your worst nightmare. for it's price there's nothing better.

My Bass Effects pedal was bought from Fox's Music Hull for £69.99

The quality of most of the effects is excellent and there is a large variety of effects to choose from. The effects are easily accessible from the two large pedals on the front. the effects can be switched into any order the user wishes to use them in so as to ease access. Also every aspect of each effect can be adapted and changed by the user to suit their individual specific needs. The unit also comes equipped with an easy to use tuner which you can access by pressing both the pedals simultaneously.

One of the only problems with this unit is getting a good quality of distortion. The main problem is that you cannot get the sound to be distorted and also retain enough of the original sound at the same time.

The construction of the unit is satisfactory providing a good balance between size, in that it is more or less pocket size, and ease of access.

All in all the Zoom 506II is a very good bass pedal for any budding bass guitarists and professionals. It incorporates all the qualities of the single function BOSS effects pedals and a fraction of the price and size

I got my zoom 506 bass pedal at keparts in Decorah IA, one of my friends got a pedal that was a little different but this one looked close enough and like fun so I got it.

I like that is has lots of effects and other things like a tuner, the tuner makes it alot easier to tune to drop D.

The thing that I don't like is that it is realy hard to figure out how to run the pedal without a manual. I am having trouble changing the pre settings on it and getting the different sounds out of it.

The construction and quality of this unit are good it is durable and so far since i have had it it hasn't broken so it has to be better then alot of other stuff I have gotten for my guitar.

I think this is a good product for beginers to get. You want to make sure that you get a manual with it. After you figure it out it is a veary fun toy.

I acquired this unit at the Sam Ash mega music store in New Haven, Connecticut for $69.99. I wanted this pedal Because I wanted to experiment with different sounds that the box makes. It helped to develop my creativity on the fretboard. I like it a lot.

I like how it comes with over 27 different, individual sounds. Specifically, however, I like the auto-wah, the distortion (although distortion on a bass doesn't sound a great as when it's on a regular electric), the chorus, the fuzz, and the delay. They are all excellent.

The only thing about this unit is that it doesn't have any empty memory slots where you can create your own sounds. You have to erase that sounds that the box came programmed with, and that's a pain.

The constuction and the quality of this unit are superb. The pedals are easy to press, and it is durable. I've had it for over a year and a half, and there's not a scratch on it.

This is a great product, and is awesome for develpoing one's creativity. It come with over 27 different, individual sounds, which is great. It makes it more convienient and compact (you don't have to buy 27 different, expensive pedals to get 27 different sounds.

i purchased new at musicstop in st johns on newfoundland for $210 canadian I bought this unit when it first came out and regret it because of the very fast decrease in the sale price.

i like the fact thats its cheaper then buying the seprete pedals to accomidate all the effects that the one pedal can do alone . the small portability of the unit very lightweight and small enough to fit in a case along side my axe. it's not difficult to use it can be used by anyone dosnt matter how long you've been play just plug it in and play. I liked the way that you can use headphone's rather then an amp for private sessions or traveling.

i dont like having to program different efffects into the unit and i dont like having to go through so many effects to find the right one. i dont like how much power is needed to power the unit because when using the 9 volt battery the unit only lasts on the average of 3-4 hours usage so you go through alot of battery's and the battery's that are worn out still have enough life to power flashlights and other small items so the pedal dosnt get potential out of the battery's.

its made of a hard plastic with a metal base and rubber footstands, it has a digital screen thats tells you what effect is being used. it accomidates both ac power and a 9 volt battery.

i like this pedal not too hard to use fun to fool around with but dosnt meet a onstage concert situation because of the need to switch between effects its good to use because it has a built in atomatic tuner that is also as simple as the pedal is to use.

All types of effects are available except the Whammy
Connection In / Out + power supply and 9V battery door.
Left = 2 small buttons to edit and organize your belongings characters
Right = 2 incremented buttons to move from the other bank (A, B, C, D, E and F)
2 footswitches right / left to the pacths incremented each bank (4 letters)

UTILIZATION

Setup is simple, we freelance quickly but the trick to validate his choice must be supported at the same time on two footswitches if one starts the verse with the large distortion that Czech!
And to move from one bank to another, must kneel as has not done via the said footswitch, although practical scne :-(
The bypass causes a loss of momentum lgre therefore quite agaant when you plant a gas rgler.

SOUND QUALITY

There is everything, eat and drink.
The modlisations amp is inconclusive. (Hey, c normal, this price, you had no modlisation each runies best pedals in the same case even when ?!?!)
The distos are numerous but lack terrrrriblement grain.
However one or two chorus INTERESTED if a little hack.

OVERALL OPINION

I learned connatre home but has made only once set foot in BPS.
Its advantage as it gives a small ide on all these sounds but the default is that it does not push the sounds far away.
For those who dbutent or have no effect, there's enough fun for a while but once you want to have a good saturation of a mchiiiiiint chorus direction:
- ODB-3 for a large panel from the drive distortion
or
- The Big Muff for a good trrrrrrrrs Fuzz (my preferences goes MODEL Russian)

UTILIZATION

Trs easy to use.
Only regret (in use) is the 4 buttons for little ones "rgler" effects and to protect his personal effects. And on top after a while (personal) they are blocked, so I constraints of "hack" in order to use it again.
And two large footswitch is boquent too! Nothing works for rpar. Therefore appuyan on one or other of the preset switches defillent alone!!

SOUND QUALITY

Then the drip pan is a ...
Ok it's cheap, but still ...
The distortion, make you laugh!
The modlisation, I'm jms served ... nothing beats an amp!
The auto wha wha ... Then zoom in a car sounds like a wha!! _
The bass synths ... Unusable!
The non-adjustable delay is trs useful feedback!
And a signal to noise ratio ki make it useless for any record!

But I confess! The chorus holds up. And the reverb is nice!

OVERALL OPINION

I bought it when I start the bass. I wanted full effect at once.
I t mean to this little pedal effect I know. Considering the price, we do not expect to have some sounds awesome at the same time. But then why make cheap multi effects if the effects are useless ... ?
She is sorely lacking strength!

You little bass player who wants effects to your bass, think ... What effects do you need?
For me, in hindsight, the multi effects are unnecessary and often bad propoz effects. And there's nothing like a pedal for effect, even if the price is not the same I know.
