the computer sounds fine... those SATA harddrives are nice.....
you are going to need a better recording soundcard if you want to achieve semi-decent results. maybe one with a mic pre built in so that you can use a condenser mic for recording vocals and/or guitar.

you will also want some studio monitors as well.
your not done yet....
time to go shopping!!!!

Yes..forget about the computer store soundcard and get an external USB or Firewire interface from a Music store - you'll be much happier in the end. (along with your monitors and software like Cubase or Sonar). They should also be able to help you with picking the right mics in your price range (make sure you ask about the return policy just in case...) The computer is plenty, you'll be rocking...
