ok so i got a new Hp laptop and im having trouble with recording on it. there is a built in microphone that sucks. and an input spot to plug in an eigth inch, a microphone spot which isnt a surprise because this is common. my only problem is when i use cubase to record with my mixer plugged in, it will record from the built in mic. the mixers working fine. so how would i disable the microphone so i can use the mixer thats plugged in.

Connect your mixer to the laptop, go to the volume control panel, disable microphone and enable line in. This should work
