Thread Crackling feedback on Cubase. plus vst meter is very high

Hi guys,
If i've built up several layers of a tune on Cubase, I get a mean crackling whilst in playback. Also the VST meter is up really high. Anhy idea's on what this could be?

your cpu is choking.

usually happens when you use too much vsts.

check ur RAM .. usually u need more than 1GB RAM if u record with many layers n vst effects
