I have the older version of the 520D and there is no input gain knob.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it mainly for vocals.
Our sound engineer on the sound system removes the acute and grave and put a little more than a medium which gives effect "softphone" that I complete with a lightweight octaver (BOSS OC-2)
and that makes it serious!
