How long have you use it?
I rather uses an AKG D5 because it is more effective in addressing feedback. It's been 2 years since I use D5 especially repetition.

What is the particular feature you like best and least?
D5 of bnficie to a recent technology as saying that the SM58 and Beta 58 t designed them there 40 and 20 years.
D5 is as hot as the DM and the Beta but possde more nuances than the DM or even a same range of Sennheiser. The most effective rpter styles in rock / hard / metal is D5. On stage an old SM will give you more a vintage sound and D5 more definition (rcente technology requires)

Have you tried many other models before acqurir?
How do you report qualitprix?
D5 score a bit cheaper than the SM and 2 times cheaper than the Beta 58. possde a Suprieure robustness to Shure at the grid. This is the best report qualitprix between 70 and 200euros currently supercardioid dynamic microphone

I do not regrte to have purchased after having tried the famous legend of microphones which are more expensive and are a little obsoltes ct D5. To record in a studio condenser microphone is prcis (eg a AKG C5), but for rpter forget this possibility (question of sensitivity)
I will put in 8/10 and 9/10 Beta 58 D5. 7/10 SM 58 and Sennheiser. For a rock / hard / metal style.

OVERALL OPINION

It's been 20 years since I used to repeat to me and also for my solo performances.
He dropped the last week after 20 years of good service after a small réparartion 10 years ago, without any special care (stored directly in the bag of cables, fell several times) and I'll buy a dice this week. (A beta 58A of the coup as the normal 58 no longer exists)
Noise manipulations are incredibly reduced!

With my group and repeats on stage we have sm58 which are much less effective on a voice like mine that does not shine by its round bass.

Compared to the SM 58, the beta 58 also has a better resistance to feedback.

I think there is no better on stage for voices like mine (a guy's voice but not Barry White lol) or a girl's voice.
(Waiting for my new BETA58 I sing with my sm57 and I'm miserable!)

OVERALL OPINION

Shure Beta 58A Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone is great for a small studio and for live performances, it provides a deep quality of the incoming signal and it sounds decent on the entire range.
Shure Beta 58A Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone is a cheap microphone that still provides a more natural sound, it has a wider frequency response, and it's quite heavier because of it's material.

What I like most about it is the great price and quality that Shure managed to give for us, I also enjoy the neodymium magnet that produces a stronger electric current for hotter output voltage for higher frequency sensitivity.

It has a frequency response of 50 Hz to 16 kHz so it basically captures all the pitch changes and phrases.

Another great thing about this mic is the Supercardioid capsule that makes the recording process to take place much much faster because after the recording you basically have the vocals quite in place and you don't need some crazy mastering and eq.

As I mentioned, my opinion about the value of price is great, it costs around 200 $ and it comes with a soft storage pouch and a mic clip that is adjustable to 180 degrees.

Precision and quality of the sounds is good, you can ever record yourself at a very close distance and still get a pretty sounds without any kind of distortion or any kind of interferences.

I've tried several dynamic mic and I gotta admit for only 200$ I don't think you can get any better deal than this, the mic doesn't feel cheap, it's made of some heavy material, it provides a deep frequency response, so it's basically a very good product at a low price.

Well, sm58 dynamic mic's successor, for taking votes ...

I have been using something like micro main voice for home recording, APRS having a dynamic and a static ... pif
my static silent so sensitive that I tankards all ambient noise, car engines, slamming doors, birds in the yard ... c'tait a micro trs more neutral, crystalline, irrprochable except that He was too sensitive ... so I look for a DCID dynamic trs good quality recordings for my homestudio with the desire to have something with more color m confidence vis vis the mark as it is DCRI (both quotes and REFERENCE) for situations together and no more ...
short, I test bulk beyer (tgx40, T88 I know the exact MODEL), the akg (d3800), the Sennheiser (E855 and e865 - electret it), an Audio Technica electret, for shure (sm 57 and 58, 57 and thus the beta 58). good, if I had the money, I would have a test or a neumann akg C414 Thiers, but I also chopp birds ...
I ultimately chose the Beta 58A, APRS having a first depth test with the Sennheiser e865 which had the particularity to have the same default as my static in terms of rendering (background noise) , finesse and less noise (c'tait even rude, hello ... the proximity of DGAT from the sm58, it has the same round in the mids (clear color but c ' is what I was looking), and brightness in the treble flateuse and more ... at least the SM did not really sharp ... in terms of proximity is not a attnu not pollute too low even if the cut is ncessaire ...

short, I put 10 because it suits me perfectly ... then all of MRIT be essay based on the votes of each grain ... I know in any case that German brands because I do not like a proximity effect too pronounced (for dynamic, but I did not test static) ...

Breaking the bank! For 50 euros more, forget the SM and buy the Beta.

I do not share with them but if you want to touch 150 euros, I recommend JVV Audio Partners. J'achte all my stuff at home for years because they have great prices.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for several months. I have known in the radio station where I work. This microphone is cheap and it allows (with dbx 286a) to the trs good job. I use it to record my chronicles home is nickel.
I like it because it is trs end, it is sturdy and I like its look. The ratio quality price is right. If you hsitez between a sm58 and a beta 58, take the beta for a few euros more.
Yes, I would do this choice willingly.

I could test rcemment other microphones (beta 87a for example), my beta 58a and Exceeds all! What a joy this microphone! DBX 286a coupled one, I have a beautiful sound trs. It is, for now, the best microphone that I used.

This Shure Beta 58A does exactly what it says it does, and it does it perfectly. My band is big and loud, and while the traditional SM58 was working fine for me (I'm a loud male singer), it wasn't working for our female vocalists. A combination of their frequency range (high) and vocal style (not as loud) was giving us problems. Their vocals came out muddy too quiet, and were prone to feedback when we turned them up. The Beta 58 fixed everything: the frequency response sounds wonderful with their voices, giving them more presence and clarity, and the supercardioid pattern of the mic makes it reject the heck out of feedback.


OVERALL OPINION

I've always felt that to get a great sound you had to buy a slightly more expensive mic to really capture the full spectrum of your voice. Using Senheiser and a few other brands (which I'm not bashing they're still great companies) I recently switched over to this mic and immediately heard more lows and mids in my voice and haven't had any feedback issues at high gain. I use the TC Helicon harmony G for effects and vocal harmonies and even with my full band behind me and the mic and it's peak of hotness it's completely in control and doesn't feedback on me. I'll never buy another mic for live vocals ever again. See why this is the industry standard for yourself.

Recently I bought one of these to try in the studio and wasn't that impressed, but on the first gig - WOW!!! I thought there was something wrong with the connections on the SM58's. The Beta was just so clear that it made the SM's sound like kazoos! Needless to say, I replaced all the mics with Betas even all of the instrument mics including the drummers.

These just make everyone sound better, clearer, and let us use less gain playing live.

This microphone is the successor of the Shure SM58 clbre a little older. So this new technology and s'entand! How clearly the SM58 sounds soft ct! ^ ^ It is even better than the AKG D880 Emotion I just acqurir and I found yet rvolutionnaire. The AKG sounds just as clear but it is a bit garish in mdiums suprieur handed that Beta is amazingly clear! ))) See anything. Forget the SM58 and choose what BETA58. Unless the color-specific SM58 sound you are looking Obviously ^ ^

For now (March 2008), there is no dclinaison with ON / OFF button.

OVERALL OPINION

After three years of repeating a shure sm 58, I just tested the Shure Beta 58 A, the same sound as usual, then another sound, June 21

The result is very good (the beta).
It is, without hesitation, much better than the SM 58. More accurate, better defined in the treble (with brightness as I read everywhere and it is true), we feel the bass boost when one sticks to the microphone (this is progressive? With these very serious desire to hot). Sound as hot as the sm 58 or more.
The Beta 58A is very pleasant "to sing", it is very flexible. A treat.

It is true that recently I use a small tube preamp behringer. it heats up pretty sound. Comparing the two microphones. on the same sound system, with the same preamp, it appears that the Beta 58 A is much better than 58 sm.

I can do a comparison with the Beyerdynamic Opus 89, I tried on the same sound.
The latter is also very accurate, as far as the BETA 58A, but it has a hollow in the medium, rather unpleasant, hollow that is not Beta 58. Although the response curves of the sheets appear to be similar for the two microphones, it is not the case in the trial. BEYERDYNAMIC égalment is the coldest in response. It is also more expensive.

The quality / price ratio, that I do not know. It seems that Tbone is very good too, for much cheaper (I did not try, I do not know if you can really compare, but it's clear that the T bone is not expensive, I did not want to try it).

I have a 2x60 watt amp which I used a Shure PG58 far (the little brother of the SM58). The problem is that as soon as I passed the 5 on the volume, Feedback became unbearable and I actually do get along with almost no repetition.
Having read the good reviews on the Beta, including better management of its feedback, I command. Total disappointment, this one is as much a Feedback PG58 except that it has no button "on off" quite handy in this situation.
Regarding the grain, it is true that it is clearer than the sound of my PG58, but in fact loses momentum. I think it is better for people with a voice a little weak, or light. Rock by the cons, the difference is not obvious, except that the beta costs 100 € more.
In short, I return to get a refund, a little disappointed ...

See more advice, I'm just a poor technician in terms of microphones ...

I use it for almost 1 year, 1 year it supports my sweet voice ...
It is really wonderful, I have a voice rather medium - medium high and it is perfect, "is" my voice in a wonderful sound, rehearsal or concert, and I use the same studio.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for several months now and I'm still satisfied at the beginning.
I already had in my possession a package containing 3 Behringer. They do their job, but the Shure is the best. And then I had the opportunity to test a SM58 and it had already rained.
What I like most is its rather robust construction, the sound quality and directivity minimizes Larsen, who were also my main problem with Behringer (the blow that I use for vocals) .
As cons go wireless but it would suit me quite a different budget so no negative for me.
The price / quality ratio is pretty good. We do not regret buying a reliable mic like this.
I would do this choice without hesitation. I think to take one of the choirs. But I still hesitate to take the HF version later (much later time) because of the price.
