ToneZone
Published on 03/13/04 at 04:07
- 10 types of distos (classic, fat, overdrive, metal, seattle, big fuzz, boost, brit, us hi-gain)
- 11 types of amp models (Tweed, black panel, vintage, classic, modern, AC30, AC15 ...)
- 11 types of modulation (chorus, flanger, octave, delay, phaser, Filtron ...)
- 11 effects pedals (wah, uvibe, chorus / flanger, talk, volume, ring ...)
- 11 ambience effects (reverb, delay, echoes ...)
- 48 factory presets (16 banks of 3 effects)
- 48 user programs
- 56 types of effects
- Sample Rate 8 seconds - input jack, stereo mini-jack, headphone
- AC adapter
- Back-lit LCD display
- Chromatic tuner
- Metronome (jusq'à 208 bpm)
- Technology REMS (the backbone of KORG!)
I'm not 10 for two reasons:
- No MIDI interface connectors
- The absence of the power button (on / off). TFW is con but the beast when you turn on and off the field arm when it is unplugged.
UTILIZATION
Operation is very simple! have a clear, concise, no knobs in bulk (see BOSS), the effects are easily adjustable, and if necessary information, the manual is thick but you can find all the answers.
SOUND QUALITY
The effects are efficient technology (REMS), the distos very realistic (especially the US Hi-Gain announcing the Apocalypse once properly adjusted => mesa correct), the amp simulations are royal (small crush on the BLACK PANEL 2x12 ), the modulations are terrible (mention the odd effect of the year for the Filtron that gives the impression of hearing a pack of ducks) the effects pedal are nice (the UVibe meet JIMI fans of the god), the Wah is (obviously) not the ultimate weapon, but it makes a lot so far and reverbs (11 anyway) are classes. The acoustic simulator is not too bad and the compressor provides a good clear sound.
Note the presence of a setting Reductor Noise (Rule sensitivity and parasites) hyper-efficient.
My favorite effects: US Hi-Gain, dist Classic, Metal, Classic Flanger, Vox Wah, Mod Delay
The effect I like least is the Ring Mod (too zarb)
I use the Korg Ax-1500G with an Ibanez RGT42 (Di Marzio PAF Pro and tonezone) and a marshall VS100R
OVERALL OPINION
- I use this beast for 3 months and it is a treat
- Simplicity and reality are its sound two major assets
- Defects .... ben .... uh .... hardly! Lack the power button and MIDI
- I started with a zoom 707 II, and I wanted to see above. Then I tried the BOSS GT6 (that of my counterpart in the group) and it based on the opinions of the site AF and finally trying the Korg store was clear: I must have!
- The rapprt quality / price is preposterous! 370 euros the unit; While it is not very big and not very complex, but it was in the belly! compared with the GT6 (650 euros) and the digitech (600-700) is a matter of approximately 24 carats
- .... If I had to make another choice .... GUESS!
