hi all, anybody who is using a m-audio firewire 410 with a notebook pc? i've heard about some malfunction on laptop with fw soundcard... is it true? i'm looking for an external sound card for my toshiba-p10 with more than 2 stereo output channels and m-audio fw 410 seems to fit my needs. or is there something better out there?

A friend of mine uses a firewire 410 live with a laptop to play loops. He has never had a problem with it.

There are a lot of firewire soudcards on the market. I'd also look at the Edirol FA-101and the M-audio Firewire 14/18. They offer lots of inputs that could be useful in some recording situations.
