Thread USB Issues with Focusrite 6i6

I just purchased a 6i6 and am having issues with Audio Dropouts when the unit is plugged into any of the USB 2.0 ports on my computer. The Audio Dropouts disappear when I plug the unit into a USB 3.0 port but then the Focusrite Control software won't see the unit "no device connected". Any ideas how to fix this issue before I return the unit ? My old PCI soundcard a Delta AP 192 works fine on the system and other ASIO drivers have the same issue with the 6i6 so it appears to be an issue with the USB connection. It seems like there is just not enough bandwidth on the USB 2.0 ports and that's what is causing the drop outs. Are there any settings in Windows 7 that I could check to make sure the USB ports are not throttled ? My midi controller keyboard is USB as well and it functions without issue. Thanks in advance for any help.
