1 Focusrite 18i20 2nd Gen. & Motu 828 MK1 ADAT Connection
Hi

i have an issue with getting this setup to work. I'm not sure if the 828 can handle Standalone Mode. But what i did is to connect the Motu with Firewire and set the Clock to ADAT, the Source In/Out to ADAT and connected In & Out to the 18i20. In the Focusrite Control when i change the clock to ADAT it says "Not Locked". As far as i know this need's to happen otherwise it not works.

Can anyone help out with this?focusrite-2850887.jpg

Hi

Older post but hey I give it a try

The motu is connected with firewire. That means that unit is master and should have the clock set to internal or elseitcan not lock in.

The Second unit linked to adat should the clock set to adat... So it can look at the internal clock of the motu.

Last thing..

You talked about the motu and stand-alone.
You are using 2 units... So stand-alone is not an option..

It's not about what you got to use ....    but how you use what you got...
