No input to computer from focusrite scarlett solo

I have just purchased focusrite scarlett solo, I am running windows 10 and using Guitar rig5 I hear the sound through the speakers from my guitar (with no effects) and I can hear the metronome from the guitar rig through the speakers also. What I don't have is input into the software the audio/midi preferences does list USB focusrite ASIO for the audio. Any help would be appreciated in resolving my issue.
