I use the 18i20 v1 with reaper. My goal is to be able to record from mics and guitars (that works of course), AND record my Komplete Kontrol keyboard (or any external device going through the daw). That works with spdif looped back, but... I want to make a new separate track to overdub the Komplete Kontrol and not pull in the previous tracks on spdif. Problem is that when I do that, not only is my new track recorded, but it pulls in all the other daw tracks. This is sort of workable, but not optimum, since I want all separate tracks, not a mix like this track I described. Clear as mud I know. Maybe ask me questions so I can solve this. Bottom line is I want to monitor the previous daw tracks, while I create a new one and I don't want to record what I'm monitoring. Not even sure if it's feasible with scarlett mix control and reaper.
