Hey guys,

I am using Saffure Pro 40 on a Windows 7 machine. The sound goes dead, often. I can't play any audio, from a player, youtube or Ableton.

I noticed that changing the buffer size fixes it, sound comes back.

This issue appears most when recording, but playback can cause it too, just less often.

There is inconsistency with the issue in the sense that sometimes everything is ok for hours, sometimes I can't get it to work at all - I reset the buffer and it plays for a few secs and it goes back.

Sometimes it's worst on a fresh reboot, which makes no sense to me.

I lowered everything to 44.1 kHz, load on the device is always under 20% in Ableton.

Please help, what should I try to do?
