Published on 09/27/11 at 05:26The installation (as often on mac) is no problem. Everything is done to the software installs as quickly and as simply as possible. The general configuration is fairly simple, similar to other programs called sequencers (audio and MIDI interface, bit rate, sample rate ...)
No conflict if one of Cubase, I used a little at the time, which screwed up my Core Audio, so I do not think it comes from Logic, but you never know.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
MacBook Pro 13 "
2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo
4GB of DDR3 RAM
250 GB internal hard drive
7200T hard drive work with FireWire 800
All under Snow Leopard
Presonus FP10 audio interface
This configuration works very well with Logic, at least as much as possible, since it is still worth noting that Logic is known for its many bugs, regardless of the config.
OVERALL OPINION
Logic I use very little, when I need an individual who is usually related to software instruments, provided by those defects are not excellent, but largely exceed those of Pro Tools.
I think Logic is a very good sequencer, which is especially designed for musicians, since everything is built to cope and many functions are automatic (the bus master and channels, for example), but it is entirely possible to create of blockbusters ("Deliverance" from Opeth, for example)
This is an affordable software (yet happy, considering the price of the mac!) And has something to do before turning to the studio version.
That said, I think Logic is too heavy and too complex to work quickly and efficiently, which is why I prefer Pro Tools.
I keep still Logic aside, just to be able to make sync logic / pro tools when logic leads sessions or if I need particulier.logi
