Excellent
Easy installation. some incompatibilities with RME Fireface quickly settled by the Swiss supplier of the product (drivers).
Easy config for anyone interested in sound and computers in general.
I found the manual a bit light for me.
I have often called a buddy at the beginning for reasons not detailed in the manual but when I need a function, I'm looking far enough in compréhenssion and it is not the purpose of the manual to tell all .
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
XEON dual processor, 2 GB of RAM, half Tera drive, ASUS, RME Fireface 800 ...
Machine installed with Windows Server 2003 and not XP (not flexible enough for music)
I often work 13 to 15 hours without restarting the machine when none or Cubase.
Even at Mac, I have not seen that. His running for three years and I never again anything at all maintenance or separate config defrag and an occasional cleaning (file transfer).
The perfs? Ben I run frequently from 15 to 30 stereo track, MIDI at the same time, the effects on each track (compr-gate-delay-flange etc. ..), a dozen reverbs and everything is fine people working without problems.
In general, I have more than half of perfs after that. I have never used the feature freeze. Well, I had to say it anyway.
Against by the start of the config, I edited the sub tasks and I am still a disk image. Worth for ten minutes, reboot the whole system in case of problems.
OVERALL OPINION
I started with the older versions and am now SX3.xx.
No such monitoring on large consoles to send a premix in the headphone of the singer. Apparently this is possible in version 4 but frankly I'm tired of ironing every time at the checkout!
Original effects that are worth nothing! If only they were in steinberg some reading! I use no effects of origin.
Good value. Something finally pro evolving but we need guys to talk more with Cubase musicos because I may not say but the effect worthless. For if I say? Oh sorry!
I stand at the moment but the competition looks increasingly VST so in the future, I guarantee nothing.
