Three slices of classic effects pedals and a slice of effects which can be added an effects loop with external pedals:
- Modulation (Tremolo, Chorus, Flanger, etc.)
- Delay (Analog, Rhythm, Hold, Reverse etc)
- Reverb (Spring, Room, Hall etc.)
- PDAL (Compressor, Wah, Auto Wah, Octave Fuzz, overdrive etc.)
The connection is adequate and includes the essential needs of the guitarist:
- Between 6.35 symtrique
- Two output jack symtriques 6.35 (L & R)
- An input and an output jack symtrique 6.35 for effects loop
- Headphone jack 3.5 asymtrique
- Two ports Midi: In / Out
Lacks only numrique output (SPDIF) to avoid going through an analog, but Vox made some adjustments on the latest version: the Tonelab LE.
UTILIZATION
As has often said and t rpt the Tonelab is designed and made for players who do not want to spend most of their time fiddle music buttons!
However, the factory presets have effects exagrment xagrs, forcing spend some time dpart to be preset to "sound" as we like.
(Sometimes the right plan to import via MIDI preset raliss by others to make a little ear and understand how the Tonelab works to get ours)
All effects are ditables knobs directly by bypassing the sub menus of sub menus menus (unlike some of its competitors), even if the simplest and fastest way is when the same edition via Midi with Tonelab SE tlchargeable Editor on the site of Vox (PC and Mac).
The effects are just enough of them to vary the sound, and the least we can say is that they are good programs because the edition is simple but powerful.
Live (for the SE version is really a thought for scne) is the foot!
Pan! in direct box with a return ddi glove and it (and us ing-kiss her because it does not grate the noise of a subculture amp scne on)!
In addition, using the FX switch ON / OFF can be as its name indicates disable and / or activate the slices of the same effects with preset paramtr same effects not Active! Control switch allows for him to have a tap tempo for delay rgler speed, or following the paramtrage preset to activate an effect or parameter.
And I do not even deuxime channel for each amp simulation can be activated by keeping the same pRSET (clear sound -> sound saturated with the same effect) or both p dales of expression also fully paramtrables!
There is no wiggle ten years: ct use is intuitive, practical and powerful. Vox thank you!
SOUND QUALITY
L is really the highlight of the Tonelab: its sound quality.
Algorithms combined with the programming circuit patent Vox by Vox: VOX Valve Reactor (APRS all treatments numriques simulations and effects, there is a Global Warming signal converted to analog by switching to low intensity in a 12AX7).
On this last point, there is clearly dbat between profes-sionals who amplification dnoncent extensive opration Marketing Vox to stamp their product label of "the tube" and the pro- Tonelabeurs (including myself) who use it and find that compared the sound is warmer and more dynamic than that of competing products.
The exact vrit is probably somewhere not far from a 50/50 rev because it is true that the lamp is btement rtro-clear with a orange LED by Vox, another ct there is the success of the Valvetronix SERIES (Vox amp transistors modlisation) and all versions of the Tonelab to prove that guitarist in marketing communications can sale but will never replace the return of the tural user satisfaction, and ultimately his choice, dictated by his ears.
Effects on the quality, they are good without being exceptional (not the level of high-end pedals ddies that unites cost half the price of Tonelab).
Some cons are just for use as the compressor, and the octave, for example.
But trs honntement working out its presets, you can get sounds absolutely magical!
The quality of simulation is trs good, especially if you like the sound Fender, Vox, Marshall, and with little gain.
The simulations of high gain amps do not sound modern or "high gain" or "modern"!
But for the right rock up to the saturation AC / DC is all that playable.
OVERALL OPINION
It'll be two years I have, and never had a problem with.
Then it sr, with a system that the chain of production, one is never safe from a manufacturing default but normally there is a guarantee!
At least one caregiver (no drop, no pogo above, press the switch reasonably etc.): the Tonelab is made to last!
It really is a superb machine, which I am quite unable to do without today.
I emmne everywhere RPET, scne, oxen with friends ...
And whatever its mode of amplification: sound system, amp neutral Tech21 PE60, Hifi speaker ...
It always comes out with flying colors!
I think I'll invest in even when the lamps with full pdalboard and all the rest, I keep it for its practical yet incredibly ct gnial guitar playing!
