Published on 04/21/11 at 03:56analog, buffered bypass (no losses on its length, no clicks either, switches every time), gain-volume cross-spectrum for more big big sound.
a week of use, house on vox ac15c1 (channel no eq).
UTILIZATION
Behold, the spectrum is not a standard tone more or less treble, but hollow or highlights without affecting the midrange bass.
In addition, most past noon the mids are cut (500hz) more treble (3kHz) are here. The bass is very well balanced, and the switch acts proper (90Hz) and p. .. effective!
Clearly you have no adjustments for treble, as in Distorto line6, but very well crafted as such so no worries.
No breath at home, lots of gain provisions, as to his seeing it
SOUND QUALITY
Grain distortion is pretty tight but not sterile, the color a bit dark / back in the mix so great for rhythmic egg.
At 10 hours I have all the gain I need, it's pretty bold but clean, and the sustain is santanesque (which does not come naturally with distos higain curiously).
As I use a compressor just before the amp (so after the wd300) the clean (just a bit of embellishment, nothing else) I have two options with this distortion:
no compressor is the super rhythmic, a tad down very compact and nasty dirty mouth, and with the compressor's solos with a great presence and more mediums and sweetness / heat a bit more volume.
By lowering the guitar volume (sg in seymour duncan SH1B) the sound is nice crunch but with the compressor behind if it's too dark.
For 20 roros is perfect.
OVERALL OPINION
I took with the HD300, and these are two very different animals, although with the same type of grain base. The wd is darker / System / hd and rhythmic hard rock solos rather phew.
I like the compressor, which gives me a solo sound so I used the wd that I found much to my taste!
In short I love the texture of this distortion, not to mention the ridiculous price!
