Boss DS-2 TURBO Distortion

This is the classic analog distortion (well I think)
4 knobs:
- Level (loudness)
- Tone (tone)
- Distortion (distortion)
- Switch normal / turbo

there is an outlet that allows you to connect a switch to move to the foot of the normal mode turbo.

UTILIZATION

Nothing is easier to use. No need to book. It's easy to find her.
Making 'remote' switch for connecting a pedal to switch between normal mode turbo is pretty smart.

SOUND QUALITY

The normal mode is like the DS-1 (distortion grunge genre - EQ V) but with less dynamic. I prefer this to the DS-1.

The turbo adds a big dose of high-mids and increase volume. on the other hand, it does nothing in terms of saturation. It gives a distorted very busy in high medium that can bring out the guitar in the mix. It sounds pretty clean and distorted as it's flattering at first. But eventually one tires quickly of the high-mids overdose tends to sound "synthetic" and cold this pedal (like a metal zone in less saturated). In addition, it lacks bass and the sound sounds like it was over in a phone. This lack of heat.

Kurt Cobain used this pedal in 1993 and you can hear very well the sound on the album "In Utero" if you want to get an idea.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought it second-hand and have kept it about 6 months. I sold it because I liked its sound is more.
I regret his sound a bit too cold and synthetic, including "turbo" mode.
Say it should become a guitarist looking for a distortion "clean" (even a little cold).
