Excellent
Distortion pedal two modes: Mode I style overdrive for AC / DC and mode II, its close to the Big Muff enough trash, good for music as Nirvana, Sonic Youth ... what the pure finesse ^ ^.
UTILIZATION
It's a boss so it's mega simple. There are a few tips manouel explains in English but there is not really necessary. For cons, I have a front porch to find a match for me, but hey, that's a matter of taste, even if we must look a little, everyone will find happiness in this pedal! SOUND QUALITY
I know it's the part that interests you there! So I use it with a transistor amp marshall 15 dfx Squier Fat Start and a standard. A transistor amp that sounds good, but it takes a little push to make it sound spit (besides, I played with the headphone, that way we may well push for the ringing). On a tube amp with snaps it against the well! The sound is really excellent. It's about stuff, it's got to be good for the pedal sounds thoroughly.
I like the way I, as the overdrive crunch and are very friendly. And mode II fuzz is really limited, it's one mega dirty and it's you must love the distortion (like me ^ ^). If you want to have several different sound is really good!
But if you do not need the turbo mode II I think the DS1 should go!
OVERALL OPINION
I have for almost a year and very, very solid, not a pet, anything! In addition I bought it used from € 50 so it's even more amazing it is in great condition! I like the different sounds that can be with. I tried a few models, I knew very few brands so for me the reference was boss. I have long hesitated between DS1 and DS2, but in hindsight I would have taken a Big Muff, unfortunately I did not know electro harmonix. The price / quality ratio is excellent but if you think you will not use the turbo mode, better get a DS-1.
