Summary of advice on the Boss DS-2:
The distortion pedal "Boss Turbo Distortion DS-2" is equip with 3 knobs:
- 1 level (volume)
- A tone (Tone)
- 1 drive (distortion)
+ 1 turbo (or turbo1 TURBO2)
Like all Boss pedals, it's solid. Warranty.
UTILIZATION
Trs use Simple!
3 knobs to turn, and you can send!
The manual is very well, many examples of rglages which can be used. But the simplicity of use is such that it can use its own rglages directly.
SOUND QUALITY
Pedals made for grunge, rock and even punk. In fact, for the styles less hard than the metal. The distortion is pretty standard, it provides good, though sometimes cold or flat. The key is to find the amp that goes with it and everything. We like it or not is a matter of taste. Try before you buy.
OVERALL OPINION
TRS is a robust pedals without problem. After 10 years of use, it always produces the same sound. The report qualitprix is correct (may be an expensive can) but it can be used to have half price.
You can play a lot of things, mostly grunge, punk or rock. But not a sound as the metal trash.
I must say that Kurt Cobain used him as a DS-1 and DS-2, and the Red Hot
Chilli Peppers, or Steve Vai at a given time ...
