This was my first effect pedal and great for lead bass. i use this for hight end and a digitech bass driver for low end distortion i dont regret buying it

nto much the battery life for it is good comparied to my digitechs

tank I've dropped it alot and the only thing wriong with it are a few paint nicks

if you liek playing metal and want a sound no one will expect use this when I adition for a band i get odd looks then they hear my sound and im usually in.

Musician's Friend... Paid $50 overall.

Look, Some People say it's wide in variety, some say it's not, but let me tell you... It's Exotic. It depends really on the things you want to Apply. I use it as the loudest Distortion Amongst my wide collection of Distortion pedals (DS-1, Big Muff, Digitech, etc.). If you think you can play REALLY LOUD, this is the One...

On the Other hand, if you need a distortion pedal that can fit in any ambience of music, WAAAAY Wrong. It would be a huge, HUGE mistake to play with this baby, it just doesn't fit. Get a DS-1 or Buy a Guitar Processor

Rough as a Rhino. DOD pedals are made to last.

Well, I don't have much more to Say. Think about your music... If you think "loud and WARM", get this one, or else, go find something else.

Bought this distortion box at Daddy's Junky Music in Western Massachusetts for close to $50 WITH the AC adapter.

This little treasure is amazing. Crank the volume and the fuzz, and watch the windows shatter. Tone the volume and the fuzz down a bit and get more mellow melodic sounds. Take all the fuzz off, and get a overdriven blues tone.

Haven't found anything I dislike about this distortion pedal, except that when I first purchased it, I had to toy with all the controls (volume, low, high, fuzz) to get my personal best tone.

Rock solid, hasn't broken yet. Get's abuse and still stands tall. BUY THE AC ADAPTER TO AVOID THE BATTERY PROBLEM!!! $20 EXTRA BUCKS!!!

Buy it now, and never look back!

Got it used at guitar center for 25 bucks. Got it cause my friends teacher used it. You can get this new for like 40-50 dollars.

The electricity design. The box it came in. The manual that suggests the kinds of sounds. The sound is dirty, extra-extra distorted, screaming, vomitous, nasea-ating, muddy, grungy, and most of all......... LOUD!!! Normally when i used my amp distortion, it would be on three before it got loud.... on this all it takes it volume 2 on the clean channel and its loud!

With so much hiss, it doesn't sound very good when recording it. Maybe a noise gate might put some of the hiss away. I'm just afraid it might screw up the sound too much.

Heavy! For it's size, it's pretty heavy, which is good. Made of metal or very strong plastic. The button could have been a little easier to push on.....

If you need a really heavy distortion, get it. I also use the boss ds-1(GREAT pedal) a lot, but for heavier tones, I ALWAYS use the DOD Grunge

I bought this because I needed a new switching pedal between my distortion and clean channels. I thought that I should spend a little more and have a different type of distortion along with my power amp distortion. I went to a local guitar shop and tried out a few different pedals and found that the DOD Grunge Distortion pedal was the one for me. I paid £49 (English pounds).

The main reason I bought this pre-amp was because it suited the type of music I enjoy playing which is post grunge such as Green Day, Nirvana and the earlier work of Blink 182. It has nice variations between low and high frequencies.

It has 4 knobs on it: 'Loud' - this allows different ratios between the clean volume level on your amp; 'Low' - this lets you select how much bass frequency to be amplified; 'High' - the treble and 'Grunge' - this chooses the amount of distortion there is.

There is a lot of distortion available for the type of music I like but is limited if you don't enjoy post grunge. It works best for Green Day and Nirvana, but, I like it for New Found Glory, Alkaline Trio and Blink 182.

Also, Kurt Cobain used it when he played with Nirvana and I think that is pretty cool.

The only thing I dislike about this is the amount of battery power needed. It means that you have to bend down with your aching back and unplug the input jack to not wear out the very expensive 9V battery.

I suggest you do what I am going to do - buy an 9V adapter for it as it has a socket for such accessories.

The knobs are nice and tight so they don't turn unwillingly. The colour is pretty original and it is made very sturdy allowing you to slam your foot down nice and hard.

There is also a rubber mat on the bottom that stops slippage on the floor.

Overall it's all very well made.

This unit is only good if you like the sound it provides. It then gets a 5 star rating.

If post grunge isn't for you then nor is the DOD Grunge Distortion pedal. It then gets a 1 star rating.

If you do buy it then ask about an adapter for power this will save a lot of cash on batteries believe me it would be worth it.

oh god where do i begin, okay first of all the tone is made of ass fluids, it is so fuzzy and noisey, you can't play without sounding like a fatman eating a pie, you can't be able to tell which chord your playing cos all yo can hear is sssssccccchhhhhhhh!

okay it is kind of okay contruction but the plastic button is a bit gay, it broke so i had to patch it up with duct tape, piece of ascheze and nobbzuk, it blows ass.

it sucks major donkey dick. i wouldn't buy another one. it gives me nightmares, i still think about the time i traded my ts808 for it. what a cock i was, but i got it back after i blackmailed the dude about his cocaine stash.

i get it at Musician's friend. i was looking for a pretty good distortion pedal.

the low end on this unit is awsome. it has a really good hard sound. they don't call it grunge for nothing. i use this thing every gig. it's my main distortion pedal.

the only thing i don't like is that it eats batteries, but you can fix that by getting a little ac adaptor for it.

it is extremely well made. it has an iron casing on it. it's really tough. like i said i use it every gig.

it's a really really good pedal if you're looking for that bottom heavy distortion. i've a boss blues driver, a voodoo labs sparkle drive, and a vs jekyl and hyde but this dod is the best i've found. i'd use it over my others anyday. it's a really good pedal.

Bought this crappy pedal at guitar center, on sale at 30 bucks, so I guess I can't gripe too much.

It is nice to play through when I need a heavier distortion (for cheaper than a MT-2), especially since the only other distortion I have is a DS-1 (no complaints about that one though!), and it's not as bottom heavy as I need it to be.

I hate this pedal with a passion, because I don't want to go out and get a wall wart for it, cause it would probably cost me more than I paid for the pedal. AND this thing EATS BATTERIES in VERY short periods of time. I'm talkin' 30 minutes, and a brand new battery is DRAINED. And that's even when I have the unit switched off. Let me tell you, that get's pretty aggrivating!

The construction is halfway decent, but I don't like the DoD switching mechanism, compared to the BOSS pedals I own. It is a pretty heavy unit, that I think could stand up to some abuse, if the batteries would ever last long enough for it to experience any.

This pedal sucks unless you want to pitch in the extra bucks and get a wall wart, or a powered pedal board. Other than that, for rythm playing, pretty heavy, pretty good bottom heavy tone.

I needed a distortion so i went to guitar center to find one. This was like 40 dollars, so i got it.

I started playing this pedal, and it was ok. Its has good tone

However, if you play metal, or love to solo-as i do- this pedal reaks. It is way to noisy as in the background noise. Its sick. Retail value should be 10 bucks.

if youre into punk or other music that takes no talent this pedal is for you. but if youre into actually being good, invest in a much better pedal. its extremely noisy

I bought this pedal from Boogie Music after my friend let me try out his Grunge pedal.I paid about $80 for it. I decided I should buy it because I was so tired of puny little amp distortion!

It's so much better than amp distortion! I like that on this pedal you have more knobs and controls to change what kind of a sound you want. It can change which end of your guitar is louder through the low and high knobs on it. The grunge knob lets you change how much distortion your getting. Not only that, but it also has a volume knob so you can make it so when you click the foot pedal it's a whole lot louder or softer. It's also a good pedal because it has a 3 year warranty on it, which guarantees that it is very durable. The other cool thing about it is it comes with a booklet that suggests certain settings for volume, high, low, and grunge for different sounds you can get. It's awesome for hardcore and punk rock!

The only thing I don't like about it is that every time you finish playing guitar you have to remember to unplug the chord to the input jack or else it drains the battery out of your pedal. I think it would be better if it had a switch to turn it on and off. I've had to replace the 9-volt battery about 3 times in the last week because I keep forgetting to unplug it, which is really annoying to have to keep plugging and unplugging it.

It is a well-built pedal. It is encased in steel (which has a really cool electricity type design on it!) and has a rubber pad on the bottom to keep it safe and to make sure it doesn't slide across the floor when you click it with your foot. It is very good quality and (just in case there is something wrong with it) it has a 3-year warranty.

To summarize, it is a great pedal for punk and has a great grunge sound to it. It's a fantastic pedal if your willing to pay the $80, but it is worth it!

The grain is trs fun, and playing with the equalizer is not dirty as one might think.
The sound is more oriented mtal as grunge, lots of gain, even winning at least gives an extreme saturation.

This is the bt hurts, I think this pedal has a sound, we like it or not, but not really possibilt to change without falling into saturation for a musical not penny.

I like its texture, and I find this sound raliste, and feel of the game is enjoyable.

I t's extremely by the minutes of the pedals. I bought it because the price down silent, I was looking for another distortion and I like the grunge sounds (fawn Screaming Trees, Mudhoney, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins etc.). There is a espce to add "reverb" in the effect that breaks all quite ugly. However, the distortion is very dirty and not very appropriate, as your exact sounds digital and not really grunge, I feel like a distortion of an era of Zoom!
I use it with my Telecaster with all the Les Paul, has not changed much.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for several months. I have a lot of other distos, I wanted to try something else since I like the sounds "grunge".
Finally, I do not have much in the pedals if not look dirty sound, but that does not sound analog at all, the grain is trs numrique with the addition of a effect that the bigger but more like an unwelcome reverb.
The only advantage is its price, it is found around 30/40 but frankly, if you want a grunge sound, go to a plutt pedals a little more like a Big Muff distortion or very dirty type Expandora .

This is a pretty awesome overdrive considering the price. There are the simple 1/4" input and ouputs as well as the input for a power supply. This is an analog overdrive pedal. This cannot be edited with a computer nor controlled by MIDI. It is not rackable, it is a foot pedal.


UTILIZATION

The effects editing on this pedal is pretty straightforward. There are three knobs, level, drive, and tone. These knobs are pretty self explanatory. There is no need for a manual, though I didn't buy it with one so I can't say for sure.


SOUND QUALITY

I like using this with a Strat or Tele. It doesn't really do a Les Paul much justice although it's still good with one. The amp of choice is my favorite, the Fender Twin, and it also works well when used in conjunction with the dirty channel on most Marshalls. With the Twin and Strat (or even the tele), it's almost an alternative to cranking the amp. While I would still do that anyway, I would kick in the pedal and get a great rock sound that has a ton of bite but not too much fuzz. Think SRV or some nasty garage rock and you're in the ballpark. With the Marshall, it sounds good with the clean tone, giving it some dirt that is usually not there. When used with the dirty channel it can be a good boost to whatever sound you are looking for, usually for me I kick up the high end and really get soaring lead tones that sound fantastic. It also is a true bypass pedal, which is great if you don't like messing with your tone.


OVERALL OPINION

I can't say many negative things about this pedal, it's cheap and it does the trick. It's certainly not my favorite overdrive, but I'd say it competes respectably with most of them, and at half the price I'd say it's a real winner. Anyone looking for a good overdrive for a relatively low price would do well to check this out.

A good value trs qualitprix: kan kon you are young and it was the guitar beginners pa forcment lot of money put in gear and the DOD can easely iron affair!

OVERALL OPINION

I have a few days, I have the boss 0c-2 and is the difference between two pedals is minimal, comparable to see (when I use them all, the sound does not earn almost nothing).
Pedal to the area solid, the settings are simple, say that there is a wah wah in mid stroke position in the distortion.

The PDAL has DCRI t much, some say it's shit ... for my part I have for some years and I'm a fan of the grain.
It is a distortion of nag but do not pay in his grave has mtal ... well, I do not like the mtal!

The PDAL has a grain rocky sound really aggressive, she went very easy and leaves a feedback in his rather large, I personally use it on the good riffs o RATM she wonders, or dirty rhythm on the Nirvana ...

The DOD Grunge pedal is a bit misnamed, it can maybe create a &quot;grunge&quot; sound for you if you play with it, but it is mostly a pedal for metal lovers.
Its a fairly typical distortion box, 1/4&quot; input and output, red led, ac adapter input, in a sturdy metal casing with a cheap plastic stomp button and battery cover like all DOD boxes, when will they ever learn not to use plastic? It has 4 knobs; &quot;loud&quot;, &quot;low&quot;, &quot;high&quot;, and &quot;grunge&quot; (which means 'gain' in DOD-land for this pedal anyway). Its pretty simple to use.

UTILIZATION

I was a bit suprised at how much control the &quot;low&quot; and &quot;high&quot; knobs give you. You can't just max this thing out and rock out like some guitarists are tempted to do, but you will equally lose out by just leaving the EQ at 12 o'clock. You can add a ton of thick low end to your palm muting riffing with the &quot;low&quot; knob without it getting muddy as quickly as I would expect, and the 2 eq knobs seem a bit interactive. It adds a lot of versatility to this pedal.

SOUND QUALITY

This pedal will probably elicit a 'love it or hate it' reaction from most guitarists. I do like the meaty crunch of it and the amount of gain possible, but it does start to sound a bit &quot;synthetic&quot; to my ears and never really sounds &quot;warm&quot;. Its a very raw, grating distortion. It might be cool to play Pantera riffs, and detune to play newer metal, but..... I would never play prettier music like indie rock or even screamo with it. Its just to nasally and over the top. I go to this pedal when I want super aggressive distortion for metal type playing. I have the sense to reach for my Tube Screamer when I want creamy overdrive/distortion for lead/soling, and my Snarling Dogs Black Dog when I want a more classic sound.

I hate the sound of it with the gain turned down, its not very versatile in that regard either.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had mine for several years, just resurrected it from the dustbin to use it again. I like the amount of low end you can really pull out of this thing. It will add some calories to your sound, it makes me want to palmn mute for days. What I hate about it.... is that it is a bit harsh and seems a bit synthetic, not natural sounding like a tube amp cranked the heck up.
You can get them pretty cheap now. I would say they are worth trying out to see if you dig it, especially if you are into aggressive pedals to push your sound overthe top.
