What pedal for a "grunge" type of sound??

I'm looking for a good "grunge" sounding (Alice in Chains, Nirvana, QOTSA, Screaming Trees, Soundgarden, etc.) yet versatile distortion, with possibly a bit of fuzz.

I have a DS-1 in a box somewhere and a DS-2 I just bought from a friend for 20 bucks, but neither of the two really suit me...

I read a lot of good things regarding RAT pedals and would enjoy a few opinions concerning the RAT 2 and the Turbo RAT. I also heard they almost exclusively sounded good on Marshall's?!

What about T-Rex effects? Worth the price??
