Published on 11/08/11 at 07:38It's been 15 years since I played the guitar and the wah is one of my first effects, so I played so far on a crybaby, the cheapest thing, cb95, something like that.
In short, I wanted a wah quality
Many loving wah sounds of Cantrell and slash, I thought, I'll try the signatures, result:
- The Slash wah good but the distortion built me is useless, therefore, we remove the price of distortion and you end up with a "simple wah" which Q has been slightly modified. Expensive for some, infact.
- The Cantrell: wah very good (but very typical), I would take it when suddenly I saw the custom audio ...
Operation.
On the left, a fungus to activate the boost (max 20 db)
At right, a fungus to choose the Fasel (yes, this pedal two Fasel)
Right: a large knob (which is handled with the foot) to adjust the boost.
an LED, lights up or not if it activates the boost
an LED light (yellow or red) to show us the Fasel used
an LED lights up when the wah is activated (by pressing forward on the balance of the pedal)

the yellow Fasel
is the sound of the crybaby in all its glory. Compared to the crybaby of the poor (the one without Fasel), the sound is less shrill in the treble but does not justify a price twice as large (it is the same for all Fasel wah).
The red Fasel
I love the sound is quite different, it is no longer ouha wha ... but not easy to explain, say that when the balance is in the bass, the sound is more moilleux similar (relatively speaking) to Cantrell uses the wah in Alice in Chains, In short, it does not sound crybaby, it sounds .... otherwise.
The Boost
It only works when using the wah.
- In the clear: it cruncher (in a good way) the amp, and yes, the volume increases, it appears from other instruments (Group).
- In distortion: for AC, talking about chaining,:
wah-guitar-amp distortion: so that the volume gained by using the boost is literally eaten by the amount of distortion. In other words, the boost does not make us gain volume but the sustain!
disto-wah guitar-amp: there, the boost acts as a clean sound, you win the volume, but the wah after a distortion, it is not my thing (except for playing the RATM)
The pedal
Balance has an axis of rotation shorter than the crybaby of the poor. The latter being well "oiled", the rocker does not keep its position, by taking our foot, it will return to "closed" position.
When opened, there are three "potentiometers" can be modified (by turning left and right) for a Q of each Fasel, a boost for the (contrary to some comments, mine were not glued). Hold positions as a factory setting provides extreme sounds very strange.
