Ultrasone announced its shipping both the Edition 8 and Zino headphones to North American retailers.

The Edition 8 is a black and silver closed-back headphone that employs Ultrasone’s S-Logic Plus technology designed to result in “an impartial acoustic feeling that allows the listener even more of a spacious tonal perception.” The interior ear cups are covered in Ethiopian sheepskin, while the outer ear cups are covered in Ruthenium, known for its brilliant metallic sheen and durable properties.

These special edition headphones contain MU-Metal shielding (ULE technology) designed to reduce the amount of radiation directed to the listener by up to 98%, as compared to conventional headphones, according to the company. Each Edition 8 headphone is individually stamped with its own serial number & comes in a leather bag for storage and transportation.

Pricing & Availability
The Edition 8 headphones have a whopping MSRP of $1,499 and are available at www.ultrasone.com and high-end audio dealers.

Ultrasone says it has given the Zino a modern look with gunmetal black, brushed aluminum ear cups and silver colored diamond-cut aluminum nameplates. Even though the Zino was designed for mobile applications, it features two 40mm gold plated drivers, which are most commonly found in full-sized studio headphones. Rather than directing the sound to the listener’s ear canal, as most conventional headphones do, S-Logic technology employs decentralized drivers that direct audio to the listener’s outer ear.

Pricing & Availability
The Zino headphones have a MSRP of $129 and are available at Ultrasone.com, Amazon.com, Headphonesolutions.com, Soundearphones.com, Harmony Computers, RMC Audio, ALO Audio, Airport Wireless and other MI and consumer electronic retailers.
