I'm a little traditional guy, and till now, I have been buying all my gears at stores that I know I can trust, but lately, some of my friends have been talking about buying things online because it's cheaper, and is pretty reliable.

Is there any truth to this claim?

I'm trying to buy a studio console, and some snakes, and maybe a mic or two.

Any good places to shop around? my friend recommended Google Products and Amazon. Any big name stores out there that I can trust?

In US, you have some trustfull online stores.
Examples :
- https://www.zzsounds.com
- https://www.musiciansfriend.com/
- https://www.samash.com

Google product is not a store but a database of products showing offers from other stores.

Amazon should be fine for electronic goods, but if you buy something from Amazon, be aware that "Amazon market place" is not Amazon, it shows products from other stores.
