I was just wanted to set up a home studio recording.
I'm still confused in setting up a home studio recording.

What kind of work do you want to do in the studio? If you're just looking for something small, the minimum that you would need could be as small as a single USB microphone. There is plenty of free audio recording and editing software out there, or you could choose to buy something that is a bit more in depth. It really just depends on what you want to do with it. Your Vista probably isn't ideal for a recording studio, but nonetheless it will work for doing small projects...I think the first thing you have to ask yourself is what you'd like to use the for...
