after i record it positions it about half a second later any one know how to fix it.

It's a latency issue (basically, the time your PC gets the signal, processes it and sends it to output).. Depending on your soundcard, if you have a good M-Audio or similar card, use the ASIO Driver... You may still get a bit of latency but alot less...
