New models and improvements at Manne Guitars

Manne Guitars has two unveiled new models and announced an improvement in the technique used for their guitars' body-neck joint system.

A variation on the brand’s Ventura model, the Ventura 27" Baritone has a slightly more asymmetrical body shape, flat top with just the upper horn slightly slanted back to match the longer 27” scale. It features a sycamore body (for a full, solid midrange and bass tones), reverse enlarged headstock, LP bridge with strings through the body and Manne Blade humbuckers.

The T-Bone Gloss model features a sycamore body slightly reduced in thickness (40mm instead of the brand’s classic 45mm), with a weight announced as adapted to offer bite and meaty tones with body.

Using an basic bridge and a pair of Manne Blade pickups (with series/parallel switching available for each), this model also features enlarged headstock with binding and classic Manne neck, said to be designed for great neck stability with low, fast action.

Manne has also introduced a new development on their classic body-neck joint system, creating a new “embedded neck joint plate”: instead of being installed on the edge of the neck, it is now slightly recessed, so the joint plate is embedded into the neck. According to Manne, this is aimed at creating a better balance of the fingerboard extension, placing the neck to allow fully reachable upper frets, hence creating increased sound transmission and a better mechanical joint sturdiness.

A special new “integral screw insert” was also created for the bolt-on neck models: what previously was a shimmed system using neck joint ferrules under the screws now involves resin inserts that run all the way through the body, offering more area of contact for gluing and better sound transmission due to acoustic impedance matching.
