Ok so I have my studio up and running  but I need a better Mic for the
Vocal Production. I have done my homework and it seems that the Rode
NTK might best fit my needs, as far as a mic goes. My issue is that I
hear "its all about your preamp". Right now I have a Lexicon/Omega
which I am very unhappy with. My local Guitar Super Store told me to
go with the Firebox... I wasnt sure that was the case after hearing
that this Presonus box and Rode NTK's dont really sound great
together. I know its all about opinions..and personal experience..but
I just dont have the $$ to buy a bunch of preamps to give test runs.
Your help/advice is greatly appreciated!!

I've been using the NTK through some of the old dbx tube channel strips (376, 576) which sounds great. I don't think they make those models anymore, but I'm sure dbx has some newer stuff in the same vein. If you're looking for something cheaper, the Studio Projects VTB1 seems pretty decent for how cheap it retails. I've also used the NTK specifically quite a bit with the Mackie Onyx pre's which yields great results.
