Ok so I am new to the MIDI world of music production, however I have an Alesis Micron ANALOG MODELING SYNTHESIZER, and a Roland Fantom-S...both MIDI devices. I have it setup so that I have the OUT on the Roland going to the IN on my Omega Lexicon Audio Interface and the IN on my Roland coming from the OUT on my Lexicon. Then I have the THRU from my Roland going to the IN on my Micron. With me so far?? Ive noticed when I start playing on the Micron and keep a sound looped, the sounds can be played on the keys/pad of my Roland? Im sure this is normal MIDI behavior but I want to understand more what is happening there?

Does this also mean that I can only edit - MIDI the Roland data, because it is connected IN and OUT on the interface directly?
