Cumulus is the name of this new headphone project. Diamond Ho studied the difficulty autistic persons experience in isolating their senses and adapting themselves to crowded and/noisy environments.
The headband of the headphones, which is placed on the back of the neck, is equipped with a sensor that detects any body heat or heart beat raise and informs the users about this changes.
The circumaural ear pieces are also designed to isolate the user from noises and offers three modes that will be activated by touching the external part of the ear piece: it will be possible to enable a Noise Cancellation function for full isolation from the outside noises, or enable a directional microphone that will isolate speech from the background noise, or wirelessly listen to music.
