- PDAL tube saturation, two channels: Crunch / Overdrive (channel 1) and Distortion (Canal2)
- Connection jacks classic in / out
- SETTING THE indpendants volume and gains for each channel
- Rglage gnrale EQ: Bass a knob, a knob Treble
- Rglage "Gain2 voice" that adjusts the mdiums on the channel distortion.
- 2 switches with red LED to enable / disable the pedals and change channels.
- Case quite large, heavy duty
- Alim by 9V transformer (not supplied) or batteries.
- True Bypass
- ZERO noise, even when it is engaged with the gain a background ...
UTILIZATION
No need for manual (the one supplied in the box does not say much of the knobs of t'faon ...), rglages speak for themselves ... you can not use simple and fairly so intuitive ..
We go from one channel (crunch / OD) is (more) big distortion of the right switch, and bypass all the switches on the left.
SOUND QUALITY
Here is the heart of the matter ... and my reason to add my two cents to many opinions already registered.
This notice is intended primarily for owners of pdalier dsireux amliorer their sound, or those seeking a solution flights to record a sound a lamp in direct console / sound card via HP simulator. .. Many said it was worth on an amp, I think the pedals have a certain character and that everything is to find the amp that goes with it or add a good EQ.
For my part, I have a GT8 pdalier brings me much satisfaction at her, but I still want to improve the distos (which are far from being bad despite what is said ) and get closer to all-tube sound I was used for years before having me at the very edge GT8 ...
I plugged into the loop of the GT and uses a simulation Preamp as neutral as possible with an Equalizer. I must say that I immediately t very enjoyable surprise. I test a lamp other pedals in the same budget, I well liked in the AMT Tube Platinum which is not bad at all, but at the VOX Bulldog is simply the best for my taste:
Grain and heat lamp are felt immediately, and are well above what I tried before. Channel 1 allows you to go for a lightweight crunch has his overdrive "vintage" makes me think of AC / DC era 'Let There Be Rock ", and channel 2 takes over the or the overdrive channel 1 stops to go until the big Satus that fully satisfies my taste for the way Heavy Metal 80/90 to modern low-tuning now.
The knobs for Bass and Treble rglages do their job and really adds rich nuances in their respective frquences, the "voice Gain2" ddi distortion channel also allows you to play on for mdiums saturated fat, ranging from a round has a rich Mids its edge ... I read that it was not transcendent for palms mute ... well me anyway that fits me perfectly!
A mention also for specially noise by GNR pedals: ZERO, Nada, no noise, even with the gain a background a real pleasure!
Do not expect miracles with a tube pedals, AMT, Vox or otherwise, for the budget, you will never have a Mesa or a Marshall all-tube autentic pedals in one! But as discussed below, we get closer to the illusion, and it's perfect for taking direct sound card when recording is in or when I plug in my GT and in the Vox sound into rpeter.
I use the EQ WG to transfer some of its basic medium as the pedals for a more cutting edge rhythm (hence perhaps the palms-mute who pass very well for my taste). I rcupere the Medium by cutting the EQ of GT for solos and the sound is also very good.
OVERALL OPINION
Well it's simple, the best pedals of saturation that pass me in the foot!
I said not all know and have tried everything but I jou during my 15 years of guitar combos Fender, Peavey, Marshall, 2 amp lamp body while Marshall and Mesa or Crate, I have had many pedals Boss Heavy Metal, Turbo OD, Metal Zone, pdaliers Zoom, Boss GT8 GT5 and now with their many simus ... VOX is the best pedals in saturated ... it's not tube amps that I 'I cit of course, but if you have a budget and want srr amliorer the sound of your amp, or add a piece of your choice pdalier / equipment for recording "at home, "I think the pedals is really a good choice. It will, however, can be ncessaire to add an equalizer to tame her and carving your way, but once I find good rgl grain really good ...
I post samples covering different styles / sounds thanks to the pedals on the forum ... there's nothing like matching your ears to judge! ...
A last line that Imrryr absolutely right ... the pedals are in the belly! I like to play everything from Hendrix to Slipknot, and I can do it all thanks to the Bulldog, I love its versatility, and she is doing could not be better for muscle riffs ... check out my samples ... when you see those who say "too sharp" for my part .. ben some time has pass and I set my equalizer no problem.
