«  Very good microphone! »

It is a condenser microphone condenser, cardioid. Version H / C means it has a clamp for instrument (brass type) on the microphone.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it on my saxophone for a year and a half live in the studio. Before buying it, I had compared to the E608, ATM35 and ATM350. Of these three the only microphones that hold the road was the ATM35 (no longer marketed and is replaced by the ATM350. The problem is that the ATM350 has not at all the same features and, hence, does not sound the same at all! So if you want to seek an ATM35 on the second hand market).

The characteristic I like most is that his faithful renders a Beta98! Sound engineers sonorisent me, I have often said they only open the bracket to make it sound (I mean is that the treatments after the microphone is really minimal). Thing I found in or register in my returns on stage.
In addition, it is really strong: imagine the microphone on the sax, the issuer of HF in the pocket and the cable between the two ... It happened to me when I am falling or lowering the cable get caught in my legs, and suddenly, in the movement, although his shot. And although it is still there! No welding is again! Nothing!
Another feature I like about the Beta98 is that it also works great for percussive sounds like toms, snare, percussion (congas, bongos ,...). Aaaah versatility.
And the characteristic I like least, I still looking ...

The price / quality ratio is rather interesting. I bought this micro system with HF (SHURE SLX) that's why I returned to the microphone instead of € 180 € 250 ... I use it very often I walk my system and HF Beta98 wherever I play, and frankly, in a year and a half, I've never had any worries. This is the microphone that is the most expensive of those mentioned above, but seriously, it's worth it. I had a E608 before, it is certainly cheaper, but I had one of his "duck" with my saxophone and quasi-compulsory treatment (EQ and compressor) ... So I decided to put some more money for material robust, reliable and faithful!
