«  Bad amp at low prices »

Published on 11/12/11 at 11:39
I sold a few years ago, but memory is a transistor combo, 15 watts with an HP 8 "or 6", a headphone jack, a "cd input", two channels (clean / distortion) and simple adjustments.

UTILIZATION

Operation is very simple. As I recall, the manual gave some examples of settings. But I struggled to get good sound. I must say it was my first amp, I had no idea how it all worked, and I was disappointed that my Yamaha Pacifica does not sound any more like the Red Hot.

The CD input is a valuable asset to a working amp. It's light too, it's cool.

SOUNDS

In short, I too liked the sound of the duo Rage158 + Pacifica (but I kept the guitar, and I give up!). The distorted sound was dry and without depth (now that I think it was really stack). The clean sound a little bland, but usable for work.

I was playing rock / pop (times change) and was glad when I went on a Line6 Flextone III.

OVERALL OPINION

I played it one year when I started. I did not like, but I can also be misused. Anyway, I really grew after sold this amp, because my new sound motivated me to play.

For someone just looking for a coached cheap amp with a clean sound that, it could. The CD input is nice, but not essential if you have a hi-fi.
