HELP! I need some advice on installing my new Behringer Xenyx 502!

Hi everyone!

I have had a home studio setup before, but not for years so I'm a bit rusty. I just purchased a new Xenyx 502 and I'm trying to wire it up correctly. I followed the instructions which say to connect CD/TAPE output into your "recording device". I connected the outputs (with RCAs) into my soundcard but when I turn everything on I get a terrible feedback noise. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???!! PLEASE HELP!

what other connections did you make other than the rca? what are you trying to record?
