I am looking to record vocals using Pro Tools digi 001. I have a Neumann TLM-103 mic and a JoeMeek VC6 compressor. I don't have a pre-amp and after buying the Neumann I don't have a lot of $ left. The pre-amp is a definite necessity in my audio/mic chain into Pro Tools, correct? What are the trade-offs between the cheaper and more expensive models. I feel I can't skimp at any stage since I've got an above average mic here. Any feedback would be well appreciated. Thanks!

I am confused. I looked up the Digi 001 and it is a computer interface with two powered mic preamps.
