« Ibanez JS100 (Joe Satriani series) »
Published on 11/26/01 at 15:00I bought this guitar as an upgrade to my Roadstar II series Ibanez (my first guitar) when I noticed a friend in a band with it. I'm really not too familiar with Joe Satriani's work, but he helped design a fine guitar. I paid roughly $700 for it at Guitar Center a few years ago.
The sound is great! It's very versatile and looks awesome. I've been playing guitar for over 8 years now so I'm pretty picky about playability and tone, but this one can handle it! This guitar is well worth the money, and is a worthy investment. I would only trade it for the upgrade (the JS 1000).
As with my other Ibanez, the craftsmanship is great except for some simple parts such as the tone knobs. I had quite a bit of trouble with one of them. Other than that, the higher priced Ibanez guitars are quite reliable.
I also didn't like the fact that it was stolen from my car (be careful with these things) but that's really not their fault!
Like I said before the construction is beautiful. It's a job well done, and Ibanez guitars have a tendency of having a great look for a moderate price. I have thoroughly put my guitar to the test since I have been in two bands with my guitar before it wa stolen. It stood the test of hours and hours of playing time, and I would have been very happy with it had it not been stolen!
Well this guitar was a great one, but now I'm on the search for a new guitar. I spent a lot of my hard earned cash on this guitar and it was stolen from my very own apartment complex parking lot. All I have to say is be careful with these things! They're great guitars, don't let them be taken away from you! At this time I can't even afford to have this guitar back. That's the price I have to pay for not having been more careful with it.
