amp lamps 2 x 12AX7, 2 x 6V6
volume, a tremolo and a control switch / low acute
UTILIZATION
Easier you die!
SOUNDS
I bought it for several reasons:
- It is beautiful
- A combo 15 'it not run the streets
- I love the sound of 6V6
- It is easy to mod it
- Not too expensive
- Tremolo! great for surf rock
Weaknesses:
- Not super versatile but I play blues / reggae so it does
- No tone
- No effects loop, no standby, no reverb
OVERALL OPINION
I had a laney cub 10 before that I was not dazzled sold fairly quickly
I quickly made mods:
HP change a eminence legend 1518, because of its performance overall volume is up significantly
I installed the kit alnicomagnet "smooth chocolate" pot replaces the grave / acute switch by a knob, modif easy to do, then you win versatility since the range of sounds is widening between the two extremes
I changed C28 to 22uF and C32 by a 100uF, more nervous, very tight bass
Original Chinese tubes are not so bad but I'm trying to test others:
In V1 in my choice is a 5751 GE, I tested a 12AY7 was also good but the spectrum is very large, too large for guitar but could be nice for Harmonica ....
I still hesitate between a pair of JJ 6V6 or Tungsol I currently EH in which I would say they do not break bricks, would certainly order TS tubes wich are excellents
Finally this is an amp that loves pedals.
The clean sounds are mervellous
