« The case of the century! »

Published on 12/30/10 at 14:52
Developing a tube amp 20 watts of power (actually closer to 50 watts RMS).It offers an effects loop, a input 8 / 16 ohms for an extra HP, a footswitch to switch between channels (channel clean / saturated), a reverb, a 3-band EQ (bass, middle, treble), a master volume, a clean volume, a gain for the overdrive channel. The amp is quite heavy (nearly 60 pounds). It features a 30 Celestion GH12 10th Anniversary. It was exactly what I was looking for actually.

UTILIZATION

Simple as pie, you connect it, put the power during 2 / 3 minutes, then set the standby switch to on and play. You can easily find a satisfying sound. This amp very docile !

SOUNDS

It is perfect for my styles of music (more of a Pink Floyd kind). It accepts pedals very well (I have a rather loaded Pedal-Board). The sound has peaks Fender tones but keeps a sound of its own, however it does not have a UK type sound à la Marshall ... The clean channel is crisp and clear and equalization plays its role. The saturated channel does a good job, we get a good crunch halfway and with the gain maxed out, a nice distortion. For my part, I keep it clean most of the time and quite often add my distortion effects (PB).

OVERALL OPINION

I got it last week, I bought it at Thomann's after seeing the tiny price for the specs of the amp. Result: really not disappointed and even really happy, it's a real bargain, I recommend it!
