Published on 08/27/13 at 10:34Any amp switchable lamp 30W/15W/7W
2 channels (clean / dirty)
FX loop
output 16 Ohm / 8 Ohm 2x
Made in China, which does not necessarily mean poorly constructed
Suitable for rock and all its variants (metal, punk, blues ect ...)
UTILIZATION
This is an amp plug 'was two settings for each channel (bass / treble for clean and gain / shape for the dirty)
The shape is what? a setting in some middle way. A 0 was a very bumpy his bluesy style and sound 10 is widened to the metal.
Whatever the setting, it will sound and a 5-minute chrono was the sound that seeks
If we wanted to quibble a bit you can find that there is not enough adjustment for guitarists require in sound (like me). I put a MXR 10-band EQ in the effects loop for power trim detail my sound.
SOUNDS
For the rock can not be happier. The sound is british, powerful, rich and bold. The greasy haired bearded rockers will be in heaven, I am one of those there (the beard and greasy hair less)
To play at home, we have plenty to do with 7W. For rehearsal and concerts, 15W and 30W modes will be busy.
Even recording it manages, it sticks to a SM57 and go! I even tried with other more expensive mics (CE300B, C414, TLM103 ...) but the SM57 wins.
Well, it was for the overdrive channel.
For the clean channel I will not be a big help since I do not care a bit, I just want it to be clean. But here it is a bit complicated, it certainly sounds very good no worries. But this channel crunchait too fast, whatever the guitar played (I have not THAT the scratch of nags). I changed the 12AX7 with a 12AU7 (which happens to be the same lamp with less gain) and there is nickel. I also said that all the lights are not that JJ sounds pretty good, so no Chinese lamps unbranded sounding board).
OVERALL OPINION
I've had a few months now, and I never get tired of her.
I love the plug 'side, the guys Orange is clearly designed for those who do not want to bother hours to resolve their sound.
I had a 100 before but Backstar HT 100W is too powerful, so I have never benefited from its optimally.
I try a Hiwatt T20, just the same type of sound a little dirty, very rock, it was difficult to choose between the two.
Also Tubemeister series Hughes and Kettner, the clean is really friendly, too modern distortion and look neon blue style Jacquie tunning does not really liked me.
Engl Gigmaster, this amp really not bad, but modern typed too bad ...
And Vox AC15, again very good but not big enough rock.
Anyway, I would do this if it was 1000x choice, it suits me perfectly and sounds like hell.
