UTILIZATION

There can search everything on a preamp: input gain, output gain, phantom power supply, phase, a low-cut effective (I was not expecting it!), VU meter wide enough (and fun) and gauge heat lamps.

The buttons in addition to the usual configuration is very interesting: gain of 20 dB (very useful for low noise sources), switch voltage lamps, and button control of the impedance (very very interesting!)

Operation is very simple, I managed to take control of the first use in just 2 hours!

Instructions in English, a little boring, but it is useful because it explains well the characteristics of the preamp that we do not know necessarily ... it is necessary to make the effort to translate! sorry!

SOUND QUALITY

The sound?! so there! I took a big blow!

the sound is just magical! the control of the impedance mic offers an incredible richness to the sound: the minimum (ie low impedance) is very concentrated sound is somewhat muffled. half (600 Ohms) one earns a lot in sound clarity and volume. in fact, it increases the impedance + + gives a clear and clean.

I tried it on votes taken, I played a sound and harmonics. I rediscovered my microphone (sE 3300A Z): I knew it was a good mic, but the preamp was able to express all that he had the guts!

the swtich controlling the voltage applied in the circuit lamps + offers even harmonics and heat when activated. This provides a good range of sounds.

Undoubtedly, this preamp provides grain and coloring the sound. it swells a bit like a Avalon VT 737 SP (and it costs only a quarter of the price of it though!)

OVERALL OPINION

I just barely have it, I tested it on vocals, it's amazing!
it's hot, it's music is rich.

U PDATE: the 19/01/08
I replaced the bulbs of Chinese low-end by a Sylvania 12AX7 JST and General Electric 12AX7 US Army: Sylvania for the sound is dynamic and takes a nice color, it is stronger and more balanced. for GE, the sound is incredible! it has a very wide dynamic, timbre of voice is respected to the letter, the sound is balanced and precise without running out of heat! 12AX7 is the best that I could listen to ...

in short my preamp to completely change by changing the lights, the sound is not at all the mm, I gain and gain definition, it's all good at all levels! without exaggeration, my MPA Gold is now at an Avalon VT 737 SP mm or a Tube Tech MP1A, truthfully ... anyway no one has to believe me, but if you can change the lights , do it ... in + is very simple, I could do myself ... mm

oh yes! I almost forgot: we stop saying that we should not couple a tube microphone with a tube preamp ... it's really stupid thing to say! it may well do if we want to get qqchose particulier.tout depends on the microphone and preamp utilisé.moi personally I have a Rode Classic II I often couple to my MPA Gold ... you would be surprised to hear the result ...

a big thank you to jctroyes ... big up!
