Hi... I spent a good hour troubleshooting yesterday, and solved the immediate problem but I'm not sure I really understand what is going on on my 18i20 Gen 3.

In pro tools, I have output to channel 1 and 2, and I have the audio signal from the 18i20 to a monitor and hear everything fine... additionally, I can hear what I expect through headphone port 1 (the same signal that is going to output 1 and 2 above)

What stumped me is this article: - leading me to believe I needed to connect to the 18i20's ports 7 and 8. However, even after mapping the outputs in protools to 7 and 8, I never heard anything.. through the monitor or the headphones.

Can someone point me to better info or explain 'for dummies' like me?
