UTILIZATION

Installation is very simple, 5 minutes and everything works.

GETTING STARTED

2 knobs: gain preamp and volume output - is essential. I plugged in my laptop and I run Gearbox (dedicated software, everything passes necessarily by him), it works. It's very simple.

OVERALL OPINION

I do not really back but since I use it in repeats and on stage to voice my opinion can perhaps be used:

I was a little disappointed with the color proposed by the preamp. They are too similar for my taste, but we must take into account that I use a dynamic mic (Audix OM7) less elaborate and a static. The effects are subtle without being used. We can not change the preset by noon (pedal) .. gearbox is not. It includes only the control change, not the program change, so if you want to change the preset, he must fully describe the new setting to use (what preamp, gain, EQ each, each effect ...) what ' any MIDI pedal does (ten control change is already huge, is it takes about twenty ...) The only solution would be to use an interpreter PM: something that transforms the program change in control change in gearbox 20. ... I am currently testing it, I do not know yet if it works.

The thing that I really love is the surprise on this TonePort: it does not mug feedback. It's a mystery to me. I tried everything before: EQ, no compressor, micro special, no reverb, even the shark from behringer (not cool) ... in vain! every time I was at the extreme limit of the feedback. If I stayed at the microphone without singing more than 3 seconds, it whistled.

Now, I put a large compressor, a distortion of my voice, the cleat of delay, reverb, and I still have the headroom! I suspect the noise gate to be phenomenal, but after all, I do not care, it works! Now when basseux grattiste and play like the deaf, I can get on and I put out their ears!
