The USB connection allows for use with computers DIFFERENT; the pramps Intgr; / O, the absence of external power (but is ultimately a benefit?)

Recording and mixing "nomadic"

With an Athlon 64 X2 (winXP) and a laptop aspire intel duo; prcdemment with a less powerful config

I connect directly to the cables or microphones guitar in the Fast Track Pro and I record in Cubase SX3 is really basic.

OVERALL OPINION

I possde Fast Track Pro for about two years and it worked well plutt until I add a Powercore firewire and my Systm crashes began: suddenly, and the map freezes cubase "rule", reset the required Systm ... Despite all my trials and advice diligent technical support M-Audio, I did not russi locate the origin of the problem: USB bus? firewire? I have supper failure on my Fast Track Pro, because it causes dfaillances USB on another computer ... She then grow old plutt wrong (especially since the power button is showing signs of weakness).
I wait in vain for new drivers in hopes to correct this incompatibility, but as a signal by another contributor, the drivers do not seem to put days (Can be think they have reached perfection?)

So, I rutilise my good "old" Delta 44 PCI of the same manufacturer which is certainly not the same prampli or latencies, but possde 4 inputs and 4 outputs that can be used in 96 kHz ... and is especially much more stable (even if the era, it took a lot of adjustments for the use of good fawn).

- What is the particular feature you like best and least?
The main quality of this card is to be compact "portable" and easy to use (no power supply from pramp ...) the default is the lack of stability in my config and weak pramps (turn the potentiomtre 75% to start a microphone and hear even more for a SM57 -> little room)
- Have you tried many other models before acqurir?
No, I had a Delta 44 pci of the same manufacturer (I did not not amlioration of the quality of sound from the MODL).
- How do you report qualitprix?
It is inexpensive and works in a simple configuration ...
- With the exprience, you do again this choice? ...
No, I would have invested in more expensive hardware ...
