Installation carefree, a bit long but nothing major.
No incompatibilities encountered.
General configuration very simple.
A manual? No, if you're a little bit familiar with previous versions or other virtual batteries, no worries.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
PC-Q6600 overclocked to 3Ghz, 3GB Ram 800 Mhz, with a Yam 'N12 firewire. Dedicated to PC computer music (no antivirus, msn and other crap ...)
Nickel operation.
Loading time I find very reasonable, very fast!
Very stable, no crash in Cubase SX 3.1.1. currently.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for about 2 months.
What I like most. Let's clear evolution from BFD 1.x. Samples of much better quality, more dynamic, more realistic.
I want to say that I have BFD 1.x extensions, XFL, DLX, Joe Baressi, Andy Johns. Certainly it eats me close to 300 GB on a separate hard but it's worth the effort laaaaargement. We can have all the sounds you want, as long as one is patient and you know it a little. Between all the settings internal to BFD2 and the ability to highlight each item on a track DAW (on which we can apply other effects of his range as an insert!) I think it's simply insane!
Of course with all these packages, it came back in 1400 euros. It's much less expensive than a battery that starts ringing, plus cymbals and microphones ... and it can work in peace with its monitors or headphones if woman is sleeping!
I have not tried the other. I use BFD for some years. And that's fine with me.
Value, to be realistic. It's very good. This is the price of a battery with cymbals rotten cardboard, BFD2 alone.
Well once in practice, they do fine in FX Kekes with their gear to 32000 dollars an hour. In fact everything depends on his style of music and what is expected. For my part, once inserted into a mix to go unnoticed, it's a bit shit. Dynamics and dynamic ambient choking taking real drums is impossible to imitate. It jumps to the ears. It sounds too unrealistic for a bunch of styles and completely unusable for a master, especially for decision batteries Demende room atmosphere, raw and realistic.
Another remark. The cymbals completely rotten. To say the least. It Feraille and reasons. Sheer madness. A hit is a laugh if we had not blown so much money. I'm talking about ... it's all included expansion of 18 inches of 20 or worse, it is pure crap unusable, with or without plug or gate, comp lamp hardware. You'd think they are completely stupid. Where did the 13-14-16 thin? If you are looking for cymbals that sound good rhythm, drop .....
For toms ... almost like that of 12 13 16. Yes you can play on the stamp, the level and dynamics, but that does not sound like a 10 a 14 or a 18 ..
No, I will pay a superstar in addition to hardware, this made for a demo, it sucks. Although the modern metal and other styles requiring a presence and an exemplary definition it must be good.
