Value For Money :
Excellent
No worries with the installation. Quick and easy.
The Oddity is a subtractive synth with two oscillators, quite classical in its content (see specifications on the "Information"), but the architecture is surprising when you're used to the more common type, " Mini-Moog. " Fortunately, the manual (in French!) That accompanies it is very well done and we found it very quickly, especially among modulation routings. Nothing complicated in reality. On the other hand, the Oddity is accompanied by six banks of 64 presets, usually very interesting, offering a broad overview of the opportunities and beast are all good bases work to create our own sounds, although mostly very usable as is.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
Perfect stability and no malfunction on Mac Pro / Mac OS 10.6.8 / Digital Performer. CPU usage insignificant.
OVERALL OPINION
I use Oddity since its inception. I worked with Mac OS 9 and he stayed loyal by changing system. I can not say it is completely faithful to the Odyssey, having never approached it. But it matters very little to me and what I can say is that the emulation of analog sound in general is more than credible. I always liked the sound of the Oddity which can be both very "acid" or very "fat" and its amazing possibilities. It is especially ideal for creating leads frenzied howling good! In addition, a significant advantage of the "VSTi" is that all parameters are controllable via MIDI, which opens wide horizons ..
Generally, I like to add a little overdrive my synths. The Oddity lends itself very well, and with Ohmicide Ohm Force behind it makes sounds that have great fishing. Of course, some might complain that there is no effect on board, but for my part, I think this is not what we want a synth hundred times and I prefer to use my own plug-ins.
I do not think about getting tired of this synth that has always made me happy and if I had not, I really miss. Excellent price / quality ratio.
