Why is this rack?
When using Protools LE (7) for the FireWire interface, the srieux recognized the Digidesign hardware.
For what purpose?
computer music instrumentals with some hardware and a lot of plugins. Used in home studio.
What config?
See my profile, it's simpler.
Systm and instruments?
Windows XP Pro SP2 with Command8 surface of control and a pair of KRK RP5 in monitoring. TRS connectors (awaiting DI 8 channels) and ADAT I / O with another PC in sync.
For CHARACTERISTICS nothing wrong: it's srieux.
UTILIZATION
Installation very simple: my computer is 100% made up of components recommended by Digidesign.
No incompatibility.
Configuration gnrale breeze.
Comprehensive manual.
GETTING STARTED
The drivers are outstanding, clean and well done for, installs automatically with PT LE7.
The updates are not lgion but walking, I decide not to touch: when it's stable must have the rest.
LE7 used with PT, Live5 ...
Minimal latency (thank you also CPU and RAM!)
Even less lag when I reu the UAD-1, but for now ngligeable.
I record some audio simultann: catch bass, guitar and synths in one or two MIDI. The rest is a matter of plugins.
OVERALL OPINION
In an area of complment CONTRL friendly (the Command8) is that of happiness.
The pack I t Consulta vigorously by a friend-ing sound. I do not regret it.
All this equipment is trssrieux.
What I like most:
- Simple Setup
- Imperceptible low latency and
- Trs pramplis correct (do not forget ID)
- Monitoring well done in combination with the C8
- Mute the auto ignition is an excellent ide
- The connector ADAT I / O is terribly practical optical
- The rack is solid and inspires confidence
What I like least:
- The weight
- The price (even if it is quite justified)
- The gray plastic on the faade that ESG for the rack
- Touch the knobs of gain (but hey, I do not spend my time playing with)

Just a note not mchante: PT ahrit universe MAC disabilities. Mchant nothing, you just avoid your HD have names suprieurs 12 characters. Even if it works still with it better and quickly without a dialog breaks c **** at boot software.
